Officially registered! My tale of love, loss, and the apocalypse is going to happen in all its weird and obnoxiously joyful glory. I've got the plot structure down, too, which is great. Now I just need to finish writing out my defenses, because there are a couple of points that are (justifiably) likely to raise concerns from professor and classmate alike about why I am doing things in a complicated way instead of the simpler possible ways I could keep the story basically intact. The idea is that by investigating at least the questions I can foresee first of all, I will (a) have a better idea of how to explain and defend my artistic decisions, and (b) tighten the story because if it turns out that I can't justify why I've done something, or that there's no good reason why I shouldn't simplify this aspect of the story, then I can catch that part before I get too heavily invested in having things that particular way.
